Content marketing relies on relationship building and establishing your company as an authority in the minds of customers. The vast majority of people appreciate content marketing because it’s not overt – and they love being offered something of value, especially when it’s free.
By offering free information – such as DIY tutorials and industry-specific advice – you empower people to solve challenges on their own while establishing yourself as reliable and trustworthy.
No matter how terrific your content gets or how many blog subscribers you have, there’s always room for improvement.
Content can help you reach a splintered target audience, converting them to faithful fans and customers. Explosive growth in online content creation has been spurred on by great advancements in technology and social media. But we can’t just rely on easy access to people. We all have to keep improving the quality of web content we deliver.
Improve Your Content
- Incorporate relevant keywords in your text and titles. Keywords help readers find your blog and boost your search engine rankings when used appropriately. Be sure to use keywords naturally and resist any temptation to “keyword stuff.”
- Include calls to action. Calls to action should include links that drive the reader to your website. Don’t be vague – be specific about the action you want your reader to take and the destination URL you give them. For example, don’t just say “Click Here” in blog posts and insert a link to your favorite landing page. Instead, include a link to a specific area of your website that is highly relevant and offers additional educational value for the reader.
- Limit the use of links to product pages. Don’t eliminate them altogether – just be tactful and use a soft-selling approach. The last thing you want to do is include a link in every sentence and upset your readers.
- Offer something more. If your reader reaches the end of your blog post, give them a free download or other quality information. If you created an e-book that you’re using to help promote your goods and services, offer that. If you’re hosting a webinar, provide a link where the reader can sign up. Always offer bonus information that’s relevant to the topic you’ve just discussed and you will greatly improve your click-through rates.
What’s the ROI of content creation?
Not only does quality web content increase your visibility in search engines, it can also dramatically decrease the amount of money you spend to acquire new customers.
Compare the cost of content creation to the cost of traditional methods of print, radio and TV advertisements. Then improve continually.
To bring the results of your content marketing efforts into a more crisp, clear, and measurable focus, put your business on the fast track to compelling content creation – work with a professional that can implement all of the methods discussed here.
