You might be a rare breed if you have the time, resources, and internal fortitude to keep your blog going by yourself. Time management does not come easily to overworked entrepreneurs and neither does adhering to a publication schedule and its deadlines. However, your business blog and its subscriptions, comments, and conversions are depending on you. Don’t do it alone. Leverage your internal and external resources and you’ll deliver consistently.
How to Post Regularly
To deliver high quality content consistently, first determine how many blog posts you can write and edit per week. Then, find out whether any of your staff have the writing skills and time to help you. Encourage multiple people on your team but know that you’ll still need to take full responsibility for your blog because many people won’t follow through.
What are you going to be posting in 3 months?
First, map out 25-50 blog topics and consider featuring products, employees and customers. Then, create an editorial calendar and publishing schedule with deadlines.
Start writing a number of days before your deadlines and make sure you give yourself adequate time. Always release blog posts regularly so you don’t lose a percentage of your audience to inconsistency.
Sustain the Effort
In order to reach high numbers of blog subscribers, you’ve got to find a way to produce interesting content in a timely fashion. Seek outside help if you need to and consider asking for guest posts from other bloggers.
To create the content your readers are looking for, identify buyer personas and create a mix of blog posts that will interest them. Write about things your personas care about, limit self-promotion and product pushing. However, if you want to generate leads and sales you should use appropriate calls to action and you’ll also need a plan to spread your blog posts with social media.
No Need to Stall
If you find yourself struggling to stay consistent, hire an outside firm to do the actual writing or adjust the frequency of your publications. It’s better to publish with less frequency than to publish sporadically. If you can’t blog daily, aim for weekly publication. If that’s still too frequent, try a monthly schedule.
Manage Your Resources
You have many internal and external resources to choose from. Always set the bar high for quality whenever you’re assigning blog posts to be written by employees, guests or outside firms. Insist on a voice that represents your company well and consider using a blend of resources to take control of your blog.
